Browns’ Myles Garrett to Have MRI for Foot Injury

CLEVELAND — Myles Garrett, the defensive end for the Cleveland Browns, is set to undergo an MRI due to a persistent injury to his feet, which he aggravated during the team’s recent defeat against the New York Giants.

In the fourth quarter of the game, Garrett required assistance from trainers on the field and spent a significant amount of time in the medical tent before returning to action. However, by the end of a drive, he was seen leaving the field with some visible discomfort.

Following the Browns’ 21-15 loss, Garrett discussed the impact of his foot injury, noting that it has also caused issues in his lower legs. “It’s more than just the foot,” he explained. “It’s multiple things going on. If I feel like the foot is getting better, then something else acts up. It’s just a cycle where everything is interconnected right now. Since nothing has had the opportunity to fully heal, I end up compensating for one injury, which aggravates another.”

Garrett clarified on Friday that the injury he’s been dealing with is not limited to just one foot; both feet are affected. He mentioned the possibility of needing a medical procedure in the future but confirmed his intention to keep playing. When asked if he had previously undergone an MRI for his feet, he shook his head, indicating he had not.

“I’m not worried about something I don’t have information on,” Garrett stated when questioned about the potential risk of being sidelined due to his injury. “I’ll get the results and take it from there. For now, I plan to keep playing as I have been and look forward to the next game until I’m advised otherwise.”

In addition to Garrett’s concerns, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski addressed the injuries affecting the offensive line. Three players—left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr., Wyatt Teller, and James Hudson III—will also undergo assessments to determine the severity of their conditions.

The situation presents a difficult challenge for the Browns, as managing injuries is becoming increasingly complicated. The depth of the team will be tested as they prepare for upcoming matches.

As the team looks forward to their next game, the hope remains that both Garrett and the offensive linemen will recover adequately to contribute to the team’s performance. Nonetheless, the players’ health continues to be a critical focus as they navigate the rigors of the season.
