Bruce Springsteen Denies Retirement Rumors at Philadelphia Concert

Bruce Springsteen made it clear at a recent concert that he has no plans to retire from touring anytime soon. During his performance at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, The Boss emphatically stated, “We’ve been around 50 f**king years and we ain’t quitting!”

Springsteen dismissed any speculation about a farewell tour, declaring, “We ain’t doing no farewell tour bulls**t! Jesus Christ! No farewell tour for the E Street Band!” His comments were captured in videos shared on social media by excited fans.

The 74-year-old rock icon continued with a spirited dismissal of the idea of quitting. “Hell no . . . Farewell to what? Thousands of people screaming your name? Yeah, I wanna quit that,” he joked, much to the delight of the cheering crowd. “That’s it. That’s all it takes. I ain’t goin’ anywhere.”

Last September, Springsteen had to postpone several shows to receive treatment for peptic ulcer disease (PUD). This condition, which involves sores in the lining of the stomach or the upper part of the small intestine, forced The Boss to take a break. At that time, he expressed his disappointment in a statement on his website, saying he and the E Street Band were “heartbroken” about the pause. He assured fans, “Thank you for your understanding and support. We’ve been having a blast at our U.S. shows and we’re looking forward to more great times. We’ll be back soon.”

Springsteen’s North American tour will continue through November. After that, he will head to Europe next summer to complete shows that were previously postponed.
