BTS Almost Claims No. 1 Spot in America with an Older Hit

BTS is currently on a hiatus as its members fulfill their mandatory military service in South Korea. Despite this break, the globally-celebrated vocal group continues to see impressive sales, a testament to their enduring popularity.

Presently, BTS is making waves on the U.S. iTunes chart. Their dedicated fanbase has come together to elevate one of the band’s older tracks, “We are Bulletproof : The Eternal,” propelling it up the rankings of the bestselling songs in the country and rekindling its status as a hit.

As of now, “We are Bulletproof : The Eternal” stands at No. 2 on the American iTunes chart. The track recently surged several positions, breaking into the top 10 and then the top five.

Only one song currently prevents BTS from claiming the top spot. Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” holds steady at No. 1, a position it has frequently maintained for several months. This track rarely relinquishes its grip on the top spot, keeping BTS at bay for the moment.

Released in early 2020, “We are Bulletproof : The Eternal” is featured on BTS’s album Map of the Soul: 7, which secured another No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for the group. Though never promoted as a single, fans have nonetheless chosen it as a favorite.

Occasionally, BTS fans will select older songs from the group’s discography and collectively drive their sales and streams back up. These resurgences can coincide with anniversaries or special occasions, but sometimes they are simply the result of online discussions and the enthusiastic support of their fanbase.

In addition to one of BTS’s tracks making it into the top 10 on U.S. iTunes, a solo effort from one of the group’s members has also charted well. Agust D, also known as Suga when performing with BTS, sees his song “People” climb slightly to reach No. 10. This recent spike in popularity follows a wave of fan support after some controversy in South Korea.

With such dedicated fans, BTS continues to make an impact on music charts worldwide, even during their hiatus.
