Caitlin Clark Breaks WNBA Record, Leads Indiana Fever Past Atlanta Dream

On August 27, Caitlin Clark delivered an impressive performance, scoring 19 points while also pulling down seven rebounds and dishing out seven assists. Her contributions helped the Indiana Fever clinch a victory against the Atlanta Dream, with a final score of 84-79 at State Farm Arena.

Kelsey Mitchell also shone in the game, leading all scorers with 29 points. Clark’s latest achievement of 21 games where she recorded at least 15 points and five assists establishes a new benchmark in WNBA history, showcasing her stellar season.

Clark expressed her excitement about her ongoing development as a player. “I’m really excited because I feel like there are so many areas for me to continue to get better,” she stated during a press conference.

With this victory, the Fever improved their record to 14-16, winning five of their last seven contests. They currently occupy the seventh position in the WNBA standings. In this game, Indiana outshot Atlanta with a shooting percentage of 40.8% compared to 37%.

The Fever also dominated in several key areas, outscoring the Dream 34-28 in points scored in the paint, 16-11 in second-chance points, and 11-6 in fast-break points. At one point during the game, the Fever held a commanding lead of 18 points and never found themselves behind during the matchup.

The Fever are set to host the Connecticut Sun, who are currently on a three-game winning streak, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. EDT in Indianapolis. Meanwhile, the Dream will face the Seattle Storm at 10 p.m. on Wednesday in Seattle.
