Caitlin Clark’s Victory Captivates Vanessa and the Bryant Family

Indiana Fever star rookie Caitlin Clark captured the attention of many after a stellar performance Friday night against the Chicago Sky, including that of Vanessa Bryant, widow of the late Kobe Bryant.

Clark went head-to-head with Angel Reese and put on a show, solidifying her case for Rookie of the Year as the best player on the court. The Fever, who have now won five of their last six games, find themselves in playoff contention and back to .500 after a challenging 1-8 start to the season. Clark’s extraordinary performance and impressive sneaker choice have also caught the eye of the Bryants.

Vanessa Bryant shared a picture of Clark on her Instagram story, pointing out that she was wearing Kobe’s Nike sneakers, as she often does. Clark has been a long-time fan of Kobe, sporting his shoes even during her college days. On Friday, she scored 31 points, added 12 assists, and knocked down five three-pointers, channeling her inner Kobe.

This season, Clark is averaging 18.4 points, 8.3 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. She leads all rookies in several categories, including points, assists, steals, field goals made, true shooting percentage, and free throw percentage.

Her incredible season has drawn attention from many sports legends, and with eight games remaining, she has the Fever on track to end a seven-year playoff drought.
