Camila Cabello recently performed a Sabrina Carpenter song amid speculations of a love triangle involving Camila, her ex Shawn Mendes, and Sabrina. During a segment of “Finish the Lyric” with Capital FM, Camila, 27, sang the final lines of Sabrina’s popular track “Espresso.”

In a YouTube video released by Capital FM on Thursday, August 29, Camila seamlessly delivered the verse starting with “I’m working late ’cause I’m a singer.” She completed the lyric from Sabrina’s song with a smile, even adding a few more notes from the summer hit.

The timing of the video is notable, as it comes just days after Sabrina, 25, dropped her album Short n’ Sweet. Following the album’s release, fans began to speculate that some tracks might reflect Sabrina’s rumored relationship with Shawn, 26, from early 2023. That same year saw Shawn reconnecting with Camila, though their reunion was brief, ending again in mid-2023.

One track from Sabrina’s album, “Coincidence,” stands out with lyrics about someone still entangled with an ex. Listeners have pointed out verses where Sabrina references a girl who was “outgrown” by her partner, including a mention of Palm Springs—where Shawn and Camila were spotted at Coachella in 2023.

“What a surprise, your phone just died,” Sabrina sings in “Coincidence.” “Your car drove itself from L.A. to her thighs / Palm Springs looks nice, but who’s by your side? / Damn it, she looks kinda like the girl you outgrew. Least that’s what you said (That’s what you said).”

In another part of the song, Sabrina hints at her fling’s changing affections: “Now she’s sendin’ you some pictures wearin’ less and less / Tryna turn the past into the present tense,” she adds. “Suckin’ up to all of your mutual friends.”

Following the release of Short n’ Sweet, Camila shared a TikTok video where she sang the lyrics to her song “June Gloom.” The song touches on themes of a former lover with a new partner, leading fans to believe it might be about Sabrina and Shawn.

In “June Gloom,” Camila sings, “She’s cool, I heard / Won’t act surprised, I saw the pictures, we’re a / House fire, for sure,” and continues, “Hope it’ll burn out, but it just gets bigger / If she’s so amazing, why are you on this side of town? / If you like her so much, what are you here trying to find out?”

Neither Camila nor Sabrina has publicly addressed these rumors.
