American singer-songwriter Cara Quici, who now goes by the professional name CARA, is stepping back into the spotlight with her debut album, THE KRONICLES. This deeply personal anthology showcases powerful and vulnerable self-expression, pulling from her experiences as a singer in Manhattan, a cannabis grower in Boyle Heights near downtown L.A., and her personal tributes to her late brother and mother. CARA, originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, has crafted this album as an autobiographical narrative that candidly and authentically tells the chapters of her life.

In the album’s first single, “BLVD,” CARA draws inspiration from her home city of Los Angeles. The lyrics serve as a dedication to the city, her refuge, and a celebration of its diverse and vibrant community. “BLVD” captures the essence of unapologetic self-expression, reflecting on the intertwined stories of the city’s many characters. The track also features a flute solo by CARA, which she plans to bring into her live performances, adding a unique touch to her music.

THE KRONICLES also includes a feature from the late Gangsta Boo of Three 6 Mafia. Reflecting on the collaboration, CARA shared, “I grew up listening to Gangsta Boo & Three 6 Mafia vocalizing ‘YEA HOE,’ so stepping into the vocal booth with Lola to rap ‘YEA HOE’ simultaneously with her was one of the most memorable moments of my career.”

Earlier in her career, CARA released several songs, including “Away from You, Jump Smokers Remix,” and “FIGHT,” a remake of the Beastie Boys’ “Fight for Your Right to Party.” This version was licensed by SONY ATV and garnered approval from The Beastie Boys and American record executive and producer Rick Rubin. CARA has also opened for artists like Lil Jon, Mike Jones, Soulja Boy, and SOMO.

After her time in cannabis production, CARA’s return to music has been marked by a creative and personal transformation. Her songwriting has become both catchy and heart-wrenching, revealing her growth from the trials she has faced. The loss of her brother and mother profoundly impacted her, and through THE KRONICLES, she channels her grief and exhibits genuine rawness and power in her music. Listeners who understand the complexities of life will find themselves resonating deeply with CARA’s storytelling.
