Cardi B Reveals Near-Miss “Freak Accident” Endangered Her Pregnancy

Cardi B revealed she recently experienced a “freak accident” that left her briefly paralyzed and almost cost her her pregnancy.

The singer shared details during a Twitter Spaces session on Thursday, explaining that she was homebound following the incident.

“I had a fucking freak accident. I don’t know how something—well, it wasn’t little, it actually hurt,” she said, without specifying what happened or any diagnosis. “It doesn’t really happen often, but it became something so big to the point I was literally paralyzed.”

Cardi B, who recently announced her pregnancy on Instagram, mentioned that the accident almost “cost me my little one to come, but it didn’t.” This news came shortly after she filed for divorce from Offset for the third time.

She mentioned feeling good on Wednesday because of the morphine doctors had given her. By Thursday, she woke up sober and in a lot of pain, adding that if the pain persisted, she would head back to the hospital for more medication.

“I don’t give a fuck. I’m gonna exaggerate this shit so I get more morphine. Morphine me down. I don’t give a damn,” she said candidly. “This is why people be addicted to drugs because I ain’t gonna lie to you, when them motherfuckers were shooting that morphine into me, every four hours, I was waiting for my shit.”

Cardi B is expecting her third child with Offset. The couple, who married in 2017, already have a 6-year-old daughter named Kulture and a 2-year-old son named Wave.

In her Instagram post announcing the pregnancy, Cardi B seemed to touch on the impending divorce, writing, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power!”

She continued, “Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and cannot wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother, and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
