‘Cars’ and Disney Villains Attractions Coming to Orlando’s Magic Kingdom

Disney has revealed plans for exciting new attractions, dining, and shopping experiences at its Magic Kingdom theme park in Orlando, Florida. The new developments will prominently feature Disney’s iconic villains as well as characters from its Cars movies.

“Since the beginning, our Disney villains have given us endless possibilities to tell new stories,” said Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro on Saturday. “In this new land, you’ll see storytelling on a grand scale that only Disney can deliver.”

Villains Land is set to arrive at Magic Kingdom, complete with two major attractions and dining venues dedicated to Disney’s beloved villains.

Meanwhile, Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland will be getting a Cars-themed makeover. According to Disney, guests can look forward to leaving Radiator Springs behind and venturing into the wilderness with two new Cars attractions. One will be an off-road thrilling rally race, and the other will be a family-friendly attraction suitable for even the youngest racers.

While there is no specific timeline for when the Magic Kingdom revamp will be ready, another notable change is scheduled at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Set to debut in 2027, a new Tropical Americas section will be added to the park. This section will feature attractions inspired by Indiana Jones and Encanto movies.

“With Tropical Americas, we’re bringing huge projects to life for generations of fans,” D’Amaro remarked. “This is the type of signature storytelling that our Disney Imagineers have been creating for 70 years.”
