Sofia Vergara had the final Golden Buzzer for Season 19 of America’s Got Talent. She mentioned to host Terry Crews that she wouldn’t be pressured into using it but would do so when something genuinely felt right. That moment came when two wild and crazy performers from Japan, who go by the act name Schumacher, took the stage. Their novelty comedy act left the audience in stitches and had to be seen to be believed.

Schumacher, consisting of partners Ryutaro “Ryu” Nakamura and Yuya Shimada, mentioned they had been perfecting their act for the past 10 years. However, this performance marked their American debut. With just two minutes to showcase their physical comedy, they had everyone laughing and thoroughly entertained.

Simon Cowell was impressed, stating, “That was genius. It was really funny. Whose idea was this?” When Yuya responded that it was their own idea, Simon humorously pointed out that they couldn’t have come up with the same idea simultaneously. Yuya’s affirmation of that notion drew hearty laughter from the audience. Ryu added with a smile, “The only discussion we had was about who would be on top when we did the giraffe.”

When it was Sofia’s turn to provide her critique, she seemed a bit perplexed. “What is it? Is it a dance? A puppet? Or a transformation, quick change? I don’t know because I’m very confused. I thought it was ridiculous. It’s nonsense. I really don’t know what it is, but I think you deserve this,” she said. Then, with clear delight, she hit her Golden Buzzer, marking her second and the final one for the season.

Backstage, Terry Crews asked Sofia about her decision to hit the Golden Buzzer. She candidly replied, “I don’t know. That was the most fun thing we’ve had all day, all week.”

America’s Got Talent airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, with streams available the next day on Peacock.
