So, there’s a chance?

Six years after its abrupt cancellation, Netflix’s American Vandal may finally get the green light for a third season. Recently, CBS Studios President David Stapf said they’re “exploring” the idea of bringing the show back for a third season on Netflix or another equivalent platform.

“We’re exploring that, we loved that show and that title,” Stapf said.

“There’s nothing imminent, but we hope to bring it back in some fashion at some point.”

Created by Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault, American Vandal is a mockumentary following fictional aspiring filmmakers Peter Maldonado and Sam Ecklund as they investigate the cause and aftermath of high school pranks. As recently as last year, the show’s creators publicly expressed that they already had an idea for a third season if it were to come to fruition.

“Yeah, we know what our third season would be and where the series would go. It’s somewhat evergreen, so we could kind of hop back into it whenever the timing felt right, and if we felt like there was an audience that was clamoring for it,” Yacenda told Entertainment Weekly.

“But the answer is that we do have a game plan that we’re very excited about.”

Nothing is confirmed just yet, but the words of Yacenda, Perrault and Stapf have fans as excited as ever. Until a new season comes to life, the first two seasons are still available on Netflix.
