Charli XCX Cast in Erotic Thriller ‘I Want Your Sex’ With Olivia Wilde, Hoffman

Charli XCX has secured her next major film role. The artist, often dubbed the “mother of brat summer,” has been cast in Gregg Araki’s upcoming movie “I Want Your Sex.”

The film is described as a dive into a world characterized by “sex, obsession, power, betrayal, and murder,” all while maintaining an irreverent tone. Charli XCX joins an impressive cast that includes Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman, known for his work in “Licorice Pizza.”

Specifics about Charli’s character are still being kept confidential. The script for “I Want Your Sex” was written by Araki with Karley Sciortino, and production is set to begin in October in Los Angeles under Black Bear’s banner. Charli, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, was also cast last spring in Daniel Goldhaber’s remake of the cult classic “Faces of Death,” produced by Legendary Entertainment.

The complete synopsis for the film states: “How far is too far? When fresh-faced Elliot (Hoffman) lands an exciting job for renowned artist, icon, and provocateur Erika Tracy (Wilde), his fantasies come true as Erika taps him to become her sexual muse. But Elliot soon finds himself out of his depth as Erika takes him on a journey more profound than he ever could have imagined, into a world of sex, obsession, power, betrayal, and murder. Featuring outrageous characters and a playful sense of humor, I Want Your Sex will upend expectations in a way that will both shock and delight!”

Seth Caplan, an award recipient of Film Independent’s John Cassavetes award, is producing the film along with Araki, Sciortino, and Black Bear’s Teddy Schwarzman. Michael Heimler, John Friedberg, Joanne Roberts Wiles, and Courtney L. Cunniff will serve as executive producers on behalf of Black Bear. The independent label will fully finance the film and oversee international rights. CAA Media Finance is set to handle domestic sales. The film’s associate producers and casting directors are Arlie Day and Mike Page.
