Chelsea’s Noni Madueke Praises Strong Bond with Cole Palmer

In a remarkable display, Chelsea forward Noni Madueke showered accolades on his teammate Cole Palmer after the team’s emphatic 6-2 victory against Wolves on Sunday.

Madueke netted a hat trick in the second half, with Palmer playing a crucial role by providing assists for all three of his goals at Molineux, marking a significant moment in Chelsea’s season.

“He is cold and I am fire, so it mixes well,” Madueke remarked to Premier League Productions. “He has always got the ability to play the right pass at the right time, so it’s brilliant.”

The forward expressed how meaningful the match was for him personally. “Today means a lot. Really just being clever and waiting for the right moment. The system allows us to probe and probe and probe and keep possession high up [the pitch].”

Reflecting on the performance, he noted, “Maybe in the first half it was a bit more end-to-end, but we gained control in the second half. The first goal was a bit lucky; the second one was just Cole Palmer, two brilliantly weighted passes I just had to step on to score.”

Madueke was ecstatic about his hat trick but emphasized that the team’s victory was the ultimate accomplishment. “I’m made up for the hat trick, but more made up that we won the game,” he said.

He also praised Chelsea’s new manager, Enzo Maresca. “I think it’s obvious. Everyone saw what he did at Leicester last year [getting promoted]. He’s mad about his approach, about the little details.”

Madueke acknowledged that the improvements in gameplay were evident, even in their first match against Manchester City, where they struggled to finish. “Today we were clinical. It’s a great day for him; I’m happy he’s got his first Premier League win for Chelsea,” he added.

Palmer also made his mark in the match by scoring a goal that put Chelsea ahead 2-1 just before half-time. However, Wolves quickly equalized, setting the stage for an intense second half.

The second half truly belonged to Madueke and Palmer, whose synergy on the field showcased their potential. Earlier this month, Palmer was recognized as the PFA Young Player of the Year after an impressive debut season at Stamford Bridge, during which he contributed 27 goals and 15 assists in all competitions. This came after a £40 million ($52 million) transfer from Manchester City last August.

Manager Maresca was undoubtedly pleased to witness two of his star players shine so brightly, especially following a challenging start to his managerial career that included scrutiny over Chelsea’s transfer policies and a disappointing 2-0 loss to City in their opening Premier League game this season.

Adding to the excitement, new Chelsea signing João Félix also found the back of the net in the match against Wolves, marking a successful start to his second spell with the club. Félix secured a seven-year deal from Atlético Madrid after spending six months on loan with Chelsea last season.

This game served as a positive turning point for Chelsea and their fans, injecting much-needed confidence into the team as they embark on a hopeful season ahead.
