Chet Hanks Reveals Why He Finally Accepted Reality TV Role on ‘Surreal Life’

Chet Hanks is revealing why he’s finally venturing into the realm of reality TV after years of declining countless offers. A major influence in his decision was his parents, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.

Chet shared with TMZ that he had previously turned down numerous reality TV opportunities because the shows seemed too negative, dramatic, and chaotic. However, when MTV approached him with a spot on “The Surreal Life,” everything changed.

After thoroughly researching and connecting with the producers, Chet felt confident about joining the cast. A discussion with his famous parents solidified his decision, as they all agreed that “The Surreal Life” would be a great opportunity for him.

According to Chet, the MTV show felt more aligned with his image and career goals compared to other offers he had received.

As “Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets” premieres Monday night at 9 PM ET on MTV, Chet mentioned that Tom and Rita would be tuning in and following the show throughout the season.

Given his positive experience, Chet is now open to participating in more reality TV ventures, despite already having a respectable number of movie roles in his Hollywood career.

In the ‘Surreal Life’ trailer, Chet is seen getting flirty with Kim Zolciak. However, as was initially reported, they never hooked up during filming. Nonetheless, it’s intriguing that Chet mentioned they still keep in touch and recently had a conversation.
