Chevy Chase, 80, Welcomes New Addition to His Family

Chevy Chase is officially a grandfather!

On Wednesday, Aug. 7, Chase’s daughter, Emily, shared an exciting family update on Instagram.

“💕 Ivy Jay Baglieri 💕 08.01.2024,” the 35-year-old captioned her post, which featured a photo of newborn baby feet adorned with a pink bow.

In the comments, the 80-year-old Chase simply responded with, “❤️❤️❤️.”

Other Instagram users also celebrated the announcement. One user wrote, “Welcome Ivy! You have really cool parents 🙂 Daughters are the best thing in the world! Soak in every single second💕.”

Another follower commented, “Congratulations! 💗 @alex.baglieri @em_chases.”

Someone else shared, “Congrats on the beautiful blessing 💕.”

On March 16, Chase announced via Instagram that Emily and her partner, Alex Baglieri, were expecting their first child—his first grandchild.

“I can’t wait to be a Grandad!” he captioned a photo featuring himself and Baglieri resting their hands on Emily’s baby bump. “Congrats to my daughter @em_chases and @alex.baglieri ❤️.”

Emily also commented on the post, writing, “Love you, Grandad!!! 🥰.”

The next day, the expectant mom shared another snapshot of herself and her former SNL star dad on her Instagram Story. In the photo, they touched their “bumps” together, with Chase maintaining a straight face and Emily laughing. “Touching pregnant bellies 😂,” she captioned the update.

Besides Emily, Chase and his wife, Jayni—who have been married since 1982—share two other daughters, Cydney, 41, and Caley, 39.
