Chief Keef Postpones Summer Tour Citing Medical Emergency

Chief Keef has unexpectedly postponed his summer tour due to a sudden medical emergency.

On Tuesday, July 16, Chief Keef took to his Instagram Story just hours before he was set to begin his “A Lil Tour” at Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway. He announced that the tour dates would be pushed back to later this year due to an unspecified health issue.

“For health reasons, I’m postponing the tour until later this year,” the post read. “Be on the road real soon!”

In addition, Keef issued a statement to his fans via Live Nation, mentioning that he had been “ordered” to stay home.

“To my fans, I’m so sorry to announce this, but due to a medical emergency, I’ve been ordered to stay home to recover, so I have to postpone the tour,” the statement read. “Those who bought tickets can opt for a refund or keep it for a future date. I intend to be back on the road soon. Thank you, I love y’all.”

Chief Keef’s team has been contacted by XXL for further comments.

Sosa had announced the tour back in May shortly after the release of his much-awaited album, Almighty So 2. The 16-track album features guest appearances from artists like G Herbo, Lil Gnar, Tierra Whack, Quavo, and Sexyy Red, among others. The 17-date tour was scheduled to start in Boston and conclude on August 13 at San Francisco’s The Midway venue.

Additionally, Chief Keef celebrated the release of his album with a performance in his Chicago hometown for the first time in over a decade. He closed out Lyrical Lemonade’s three-day Summer Smash event in Bridgeview, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. This highly anticipated set marked Chief Keef’s first hometown performance since Lollapalooza in August 2012.

Keep an eye out for further updates on Chief Keef’s health and the rescheduled tour dates.
