Chiefs Owner Reacts to Taylor Swift Helping Andy Reid Draw Up Plays

The Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for their third consecutive Super Bowl run, and team owner Clark Hunt is surprisingly open to the idea of Taylor Swift contributing her football knowledge to head coach Andy Reid’s offense this year. The Kansas City superfan and girlfriend of star tight end Travis Kelce has reportedly been “drawing up plays,” as Rich Eisen mentioned during his show on Wednesday.

In Hunt’s appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show,” the two discussed Swift and her growing importance to the team. There were already rumors about her burgeoning interest in football strategy, and Chiefs MVP Patrick Mahomes was the first to publicly highlight her contributions to the fanbase and the game. It turns out Hunt was already aware of her involvement.

“I’ve heard the rumor,” Hunt told Eisen.

“Actually, Travis did say yesterday that her attention to detail, which she has brought to her professional career, is apparently being applied to make plays for #87 in your offense,” Eisen added.

Hunt responded, “I’m not surprised. When you’re as talented as she is, I wouldn’t put anything past her. The good news is Andy is very open-minded. He lets the players suggest plays throughout the season, and they’ll work on them and put them on the board. So, I can see Andy being open to it.”

Eisen jokingly asked, “So as Chairman and CEO, you’re cool with this sort of thing?”

“I am,” Hunt confirmed. “Andy often says he has a 51% vote in what goes into the game plan. I know if she draws something up for us, it’s going to be great, and Andy’s going to vet it.”

Whether Reid shares this vision remains to be seen. Yet, he’s a coach known for incorporating creative ideas and strategies into his game plans.

The impact Taylor Swift has had on the team has been significant. Despite rumors of a strategic break-up contract between Swift and Kelce — which Kelce has denied and likely proven to be a hoax — fans from both the Swiftie and Chiefs Kingdom communities are eager to see if the pop star will attend the Week 1 home game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Chiefs are set to kick off their season with a rematch of the 2023-24 AFC title game on Thursday, September 5, at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Swift is expected to be there to support Kelce and the team and will likely be shown on camera during some part of the Super Bowl banner ceremony before kickoff.
