Chlöe Announces Release Date for Second Album ‘Trouble in Paradise’

Chlöe has announced the release of her second studio album, Trouble in Paradise, set to drop on Friday, Aug. 9, via Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. The revelation came on Monday (Aug. 5), accompanied by a striking image on her social media. In the picture, Chlöe wades through midnight blue waters wearing a neon green dress, captioning the announcement with, “a storm is coming.”

Fellow artist Tinashe expressed her excitement, commenting, “Oh snap !!!!!” on Chlöe’s Instagram post.

Speaking on the red carpet at the 2024 BET Awards, Chlöe described the album as capturing the essence of a summer fling, both in feel and taste. She revealed to Billboard that the LP’s production is heavily inspired by her fascination with the Caribbean. “I have been obsessed with the Caribbean, so definitely Afrobeats-inspired, island vibes. You’ll definitely hear some little nuances of that in there,” she said.

Earlier this year, Chlöe released two singles, “FYS” and “Boy Bye.” Additionally, she collaborated on remixes for Nigerian artist Qing Madi’s “Vision” and Tinashe’s hit “Nasty,” which reached No. 7 on the Rhythmic Airplay charts.

In her Nylon cover story from June, Chlöe disclosed that her sister Halle, Anderson .Paak, and Jeremih would feature on the upcoming album.

Trouble in Paradise follows her debut solo studio album In Pieces, released more than a year ago. The 14-track debut included collaborations with prominent artists such as Chris Brown (“How Does It Feel”), Missy Elliott (“Told Ya”), and Future (“Cheatback”). The album achieved modest success, reaching No. 119 on the Billboard 200 and No. 17 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

Fans eagerly await the arrival of Trouble in Paradise, keen to see how Chlöe continues to evolve as an artist and what new sonic experiences she will bring.
