Uproxx cover star Chlöe wants her music to stand on its own. Today (August 5), the “Have Mercy” singer revealed her sophomore album’s official title and release date.

On her official X (formerly Twitter) profile, Chlöe broke the news to her followers with a sultry vacation photo. She hinted that the captivating neon visual was the new project’s official cover art, writing: “A storm is coming. Trouble In Paradise, 8/9.”

While many fans were excited about the announcement, some expressed concerns over Chlöe’s decision to abandon a traditional rollout.

However, Chlöe doesn’t seem to share this concern with her dedicated supporters, known as the Clovers. Although the tracklist remains under wraps, the album’s pre-save webpage prominently features the music video for her previous song “Boy Bye,” a track she has discussed extensively.

Moreover, the songwriter’s Instagram feed has provided clues about her creative direction this time around. While her provocative vacation photos garnered significant attention, snippets of her hard work offered a glimpse into her next musical phase beyond her solo debut, In Pieces.

Trouble In Paradise releases on 8/9 via Parkwood/Columbia.
