Christina Hall Explains Following Ex Ant Anstead on Instagram Amid Divorce

Published: 12:23 PM PDT, August 4, 2024

Christina Hall is speaking out for the first time since filing for divorce from Josh Hall and is addressing some of the internet’s most buzzing questions.

In a new video released on Wednesday, the HGTV star, 41, explained why she re-followed her ex Ant Anstead on Instagram amid her contentious split from her estranged third husband. Recently, Christina has made headlines for maintaining good terms with her first ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. Now, it seems she is also hoping for a cordial relationship with her second ex-husband.

“It’s just an olive branch,” Christina says in the video, referring to her decision to re-follow Ant. “And I feel like now is the time for us to put the past in the past.”

“Well, look Tarek and Heather and I get along really well, and it’s been really nice being able to co-parent with them like that,” she explains. “And, obviously, Ant and I share Hudson and Hudson is an amazing kid. And so I feel like he deserves to have us get along, especially like, you know, at sports, in school- it’s time to like, put all that behind us.”

Christina and Tarek share 13-year-old Taylor and 8-year-old Brayden. The two married in April 2009 and finalized their divorce in January 2018 after announcing their separation in December 2016. In the new video, Christina mentioned that Tarek “has got my back,” and that they get along really well. Meanwhile, Christina and British TV host Ant share 4-year-old Hudson, who they welcomed in 2019. Their bliss was short-lived as they announced their separation in September 2020 after less than two years of marriage. Christina filed for divorce in November 2020, which was finalized in June 2021. That same year, Christina began dating Josh.

Two months before filing for divorce, it was announced that Christina and Josh would be teaming up with Tarek and Heather for HGTV’s “The Flip Off.” The new show was expected to pit the couples against each other to see who can find, buy, renovate, and flip a house for the biggest financial gain.

In the wake of the divorce news, ET learned that “The Flip Off” was still set to move forward. Last month, a source close to the production stated that the show only recently started filming scenes “a few weeks ago” and the team behind the series is still “figuring out what the plan is moving forward.”

When Christina re-followed Ant, speculation that he might replace Josh on “The Flip Off” began. However, Christina shuts down those rumors in the video.

“No,” she says with a laugh and a shake of her head. “No, for sure. It really would be good for ratings, but no, I can’t work with, you know, any more exes. I already work with Tarek. So no more exes.”

However, Christina didn’t completely kill the idea, adding, “maybe season two.” But she didn’t reveal who would replace Josh on the show. “You’ll have to wait and see,” she says.

As for dating anyone at this time, Christina says it’s “too soon.” It seems she’s focusing on herself because when asked to choose between a Lamborghini or a G Wagon, she answered, “I’d go with the Lamborghini. It’s so pretty. It’s pricey, but you know what? I feel like I kind of deserve it right now. I’ve earned it. It’s time to take care of myself, not other people.”
