Christine Lakin Says Insulting Star’s Brother Cost Her ‘Fuller House’ Role

Christine Lakin revealed that a satirical video might have cost her a significant role. She shared that she was unexpectedly dropped from “Fuller House” and suggested it might involve Candace Cameron Bure.

During an interview on Jodie Sweetin‘s podcast, “How Rude, Tanneritos”, Lakin explained how the dismissal unfolded. She was preparing to meet the cast when her agent called to inform her that the first table read had been postponed. The following day, her agent told her she had been removed from the show entirely.

Lakin made several inquiries, but no one affiliated with the show would provide a clear reason for her firing, which remains a mystery to her.

Lakin has her own theory, pointing to a “Funny or Die” video from 2012. In this video, she criticized Kirk Cameron, a well-known evangelist, for his anti-gay views. The video featured former child stars mocking Cameron under the guise of a group named Child Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron, or “CCOKC”—a deliberate play on words.

Kirk Cameron’s sister is Candace Cameron Bure, who portrays D.J. Tanner in “Full House.” Lakin suspects that Bure was behind her removal from “Fuller House” over the controversial video, even though there’s no concrete evidence to support this theory.

It’s worth noting that Bure herself has faced criticism for her own views on the gay community. She left Hallmark in 2022 as the network began to feature more same-sex couples in their films.

We reached out to Bure for her comments on Christine’s statements but have yet to receive a response.
