Coal Chamber Postpone Tour Due to Health Emergency, Issue Statement

Due to a recent health emergency involving vocalist Dez Fafara, Coal Chamber has postponed their headlining U.S. tour. This announcement was made in a statement released to Loudwire.

The tour was originally set to kick off in Las Vegas next week on August 23, with special guests such as Fear Factory, Twiztid, Wednesday 13, and Black Satellite.

Detailing his medical emergency, Dez Fafara shared his emotional journey:

With a heavy heart, let me tell you a story about life taking a turn, I’m writing to you from my bed.

I’ve been running 6 miles daily, rehearsing two hours a day in my home studio, and was excited to hit the road. I was looking forward to getting on a bus with my bandmates and crew. I’ve never felt better, especially after fighting hard to recover from long-haul Covid.

On Saturday morning, I felt flashes in my eyes as I came up the stairs. I passed out, and my wife revived me. My vitals were through the roof, my skin was pale, and I was vomiting with the world spinning around me. Anahstasia called 911. I ended up in the back of an ambulance and spent nine hours in the ER testing my vitals, including X-rays of my heart and lungs. My doctor advised me to get a CAT scan, and until further testing, I am on bed rest and must postpone the tour. Our agent quickly rebooked the tour for March 2025.

See you in March 2025 on the Fiend For The Fans Tour. This postponement feels unreal; I was excited about playing with my band and connecting with fans on the road.

I want to thank everyone for their outpouring of love, calls, and texts checking on me. Since Sunday, the whole industry has been reaching out—musicians, agents, and managers. My band has been incredibly understanding, calling me hourly. I sincerely appreciate their caring nature.

Kiss your loved ones; no one is promised tomorrow. I’ll fight my way back to the stage and keep you all updated. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you in advance. We’re in the dark about what’s happening, but I’m eager to find out. HAIL.

While it’s certainly disappointing for fans, Fafara’s health is the top priority. The entire band and their friends on the tour recognize that health must come first.

Coal Chamber reunited in 2022 and was set for a month-long journey from August 23 through September 29, with an appearance at Aftershock Festival scheduled for October 12. The group hasn’t performed in the U.S. since September of last year, completing a brief Australian tour in February. Now, they look forward to their rescheduled tour dates in March 2025.
