Coco Gauff Debuts 2024 U.S. Open Kit, Reveals New CG2 Shoes as Champion

Coco Gauff took the court at the Arthur Ashe Stadium on Day One of the 2024 U.S. Open on Monday in New York City. The Grand Slam champion defeated Varvara Gracheva of France in swift fashion, with a final scoreline of 6-2, 6-0 to advance to the second round.

For her return to the U.S. Open, Gauff showcased a brand-new kit courtesy of her partnership with New Balance. The tennis ensemble featured a cornflower blue dress and yellow accents with cutouts on the midriff and lower back. The sleeveless bodice of the kit also included a keyhole cutout. The skirt featured classic pleating.

Along with the tennis kit, Gauff wore her new Coco CG2 shoes, which featured an oxidized blue color with bold yellow and white accents. The sneakers mark the 20-year-old athlete’s second signature shoe with the brand.

Gauff added an extra pop of color to her look with a bright yellow headband.

Gauff has been in a multiyear contract with New Balance since signing with the brand in October 2018. Prior to her return to the U.S. Open, Gauff celebrated her New Balance partnership with a pop-up in New York City on Thursday, which featured special guest Jaden Smith.

“I was definitely not expecting to be surprised by Jaden last night! I’m always listening to ‘Icon’ to get myself hyped up before I play, so it was amazing to see him perform it live,” the tennis star said in a statement.

“Being part of the New Balance family alongside him is really special to me, and I’m so grateful he came out to support me and the launch of my Coco CG2 last night!”

Gauff returns to the U.S. Open as the defending Women’s Singles champion. In September 2023, Gauff defeated Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus in the 2023 U.S. Open final with a scoreline of 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. Gauff celebrated her victory with a custom New Balance T-shirt, which read “Call Me Coco Champion.”
