Coi Leray and Trippie Redd Rekindle Romance 5 Years After Breakup

Coi Leray and Trippie Redd are apparently back together after briefly dating in 2019. The two rappers have shown affection for each other online, hinting at their reunion.

Leray shared a video on X that captured a video call between her and Trippie Redd, suggesting they have been spending lots of time together. “Sleeping on FaceTime, waking up on FaceTime,” she wrote. In another post, she shared a screenshot of their video call, mentioning their mutual love for Minions. “We love minions,” she added.

Fans responded with enthusiasm to the apparent rekindling of their relationship, but Leray took a moment to address critics. “I tweet and exit out this app because, child, it is just too messy in here. Like, nonstop negative sh*t on Twitter! Be safe on here,” she stated.

When the two originally broke up five years ago, Trippie Redd expressed his feelings in a song titled “Leray,” which included the lyrics: “When you got with me, you were a genius/ Now without me you have to live life as an idiot.”

At the time, Coi appeared on No Jumper and criticized the song but praised Trippie’s artistry. “At first, no, I didn’t like it. It was very like, what the f**k, because I always thought we really had something outside of the music,” she said. “I felt like I’m being used for click bait. He’ll sell out with or without me, but at that point I just felt like he coulda just called me.”

She continued, “You coulda just hit me, DM’d whoever, emailed. You coulda got the message the f*ck out there because we’re very connected. You ain’t have to go ‘head and put me down like that in a song.”

Despite her feelings at the time, Coi conceded that both she and Trippie express their emotions through their music effectively. “Just like me, I’mma put my feelings in a song and my emotions in a song and he does it very well, and that’s one thing I gotta give to him,” she acknowledged.

Last year, she referenced her ex in the track “Isabel Marant,” rapping, “Tried to count me out, and now I’m big as Trippie Redd. Woo, I hope I don’t crash.”

It appears that any past conflicts are behind them, as the two seem excited about their future together.
