Coming to Netflix This Weekend (July 19-21, 2024)

Netflix has rolled out a diverse lineup of four new programs perfect for a binge-watching weekend. The offerings include a love story, a compelling documentary, a dose of horror, and a reality dating show.

One of the highlights is “Find Me Falling,” which features Harry Connick Jr. in a captivating role as a rock star who retreats to Cyprus following a failed comeback. Initially finding solace in his cliffside home, his peace is disturbed by several visitors, including an old flame. This film, originally titled “The Islander,” is written and directed by Stelana Kliris and co-stars Agni Scott and Ali Fumiko Whitney.

Another exciting addition is “Skywalkers: A Love Story.” This documentary stars real-life daredevils Angela Nikolau and Vanya Beerkus, who are also romantic partners. The duo illegally scales one of the world’s tallest buildings to perform a hair-raising stunt, pushing the boundaries of their love and their safety. Directed by Jeff Zimbalist and co-directed by Maria Bukhonina, this film premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Horror fans will be thrilled to see the return of the South Korean apocalyptic horror series “Sweet Home” for its third and final season. Starring Song Kang, Lee Jin-wook, and Lee Si-young, the series is based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name.

Additionally, “Too Hot to Handle” is back with its sixth season. This British reality dating show continues to challenge ten adults to restrain from physical contact while living together in one house for four weeks. Each breach of the rules results in a reduction of the prize money. This season promises new twists and an additional assistant to Lana, the show’s virtual aide.

However, if you’re hoping for new content on the 20th or 21st of July, you’ll have to wait. There are no new releases scheduled for that Saturday and Sunday.

Moving on to the upcoming week, starting July 23, Netflix continues to offer engaging content. The much-loved sports drama “All American” returns for its sixth and final season. Inspired by Spencer Paysinger’s life, the show chronicles the journey of a football player recruited by a Beverly High School coach, facing culture clashes and rivalries in his new environment.

On July 24, “Resurrected Rides” will hit the streaming platform. Hosted by comedian Chris Redd, the motor makeover series includes a team of experts helping owners restore their cherished but worn-out vehicles into roadworthy masterpieces.

“Dirty Pop: The Boy Band Scam” also debuts on July 24. This docuseries delves into the story of music mogul Lou Pearlman, who famously created and exploited ’90s boybands like Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, and O-Town.

Finally, on July 25, viewers can catch “The Decameron,” a black comedy series based on Giovanni Boccaccio’s classic collection of Italian short stories. Set during the bubonic plague, a group of aristocrats and their servants try to wait out the epidemic in a Tuscan villa, unaware that their challenges are just beginning. Starring Zosia Mamet, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Jessica Plummer, and Tony Hale, the series promises an intriguing blend of humor and survival.

That same day, the second season of “Kleo” is also available. This series follows Kleo Straub, a former East German Stasi assassin who embarks on a quest for vengeance and answers after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Lastly, “Tokyo Swindlers” premieres on July 25. This Japanese series showcases a team of swindlers planning an ambitious heist to grab a prime real estate worth billions of yen. Starring Jolene Kim, Gô Ayano, and Etsushi Toyokawa, this promises to be a gripping watch.

Prepare for a rich mix of stories and genres as you settle in for a weekend of Netflix and chill.
