Common & Pete Rock Debut New Song with Posdnous & Bilal on ‘Fallon’
Common and Pete Rock paid a visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform a fresh track from their upcoming album, The Auditorium Vol. 1.
On Wednesday evening (July 10), the duo captivated the late-night TV audience with “When the Sun Shines Again,” a song featuring De La Soul member Posdnuos and singer Bilal.
Their appearance on The Tonight Show marks another step towards the unveiling of The Auditorium Vol. 1, set to be released on Friday (July 12). The album is preceded by singles “Wise Up,” “Dreamin’,” and “All Kinds of Ideas” and represents Common and Pete Rock’s first full-length project together.
The Chicago native recently opened up about the inspiration behind collaborating with the New York producer on this project.
“For me, this all started with a dream,” Common shared on Instagram. “A dream to let the world know I’ve been here. A dream to be part of Hip Hop. A dream to MC at a level where De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One, and Ice Cube knew who I was. It’s been a dream of mine to work with the LEGENDARY @realpeterock (on more than just one song). I’ve been dreaming my whole life.”
Common expressed his excitement and gratitude, saying, “I am super geeked and supremely grateful to announce our new album – The Auditorium Vol. 1 dropping July 12. I have to say, the love you all have been showing has been incredible. And know, anytime someone says they are ‘looking forward to that album you are doing with Pete Rock’ – it just makes me happy to be a part of this art form.”
