Could a Controversial Olympian Join ‘DWTS’ Season 33?

Now that the 2024 Paris Olympics are over, the athletes are embarking on other adventures. And for a select few, that means receiving an invitation to compete on DWTS Season 33.

The season premiere is a month away, which means that the athletes are likely already cast and rehearsing with their professional dance partners. But until the official cast list comes out, eager fans will have to keep guessing.

This year, there is no shortage of worthy athletes who could compete in the ballroom. But at least one Olympian might be a bit of a controversial choice.

As Dancing With The Stars fans eagerly await to see who will be cast in Season 33, many think several Olympians will join this year. Top contenders include “Pommel Horse Guy” Stephen Nedoroscik, gymnast Jordan Chiles, and rugby player Ilona Maher.

But they aren’t the only Olympians reportedly on the shortlist.

Across the world, people tuned in to watch the breakdancing competition of the Olympics. And that’s where they met Australian dancer Rachael Gunn, known as “Raygun.”

She went viral for her unorthodox performance where she scored zero points and lost all three rounds. But just because she flopped on the world stage doesn’t mean she’s down and out.

An insider reportedly told The Daily Mail that Raygun wants to change her image by joining DWTS Season 33. Raygun’s Olympics routine may have been a little odd, but she wants to prove she can dance and has a lot of energy to give.

Dancing With The Stars has had its fair share of amazing dancers, awful dancers, and just pop culture figures for years. And Raygun is now one of their targets for the upcoming season,” the insider allegedly shared. “They are always on the lookout for people up until the last minute and always want to be on the pulse of what people are talking about. … when it comes to Raygun, producers would love to talk to her and see if she would be a good fit for the upcoming season.”

Of course, there is an Australian version of Dancing With The Stars. But international celebrities sometimes compete on the American version instead, as when Irish actress Evanna Lynch competed on Season 27.

Raygun made such a splash on the world stage that an invitation for DWTS Season 33 isn’t completely out of the realm of imagination.
