County Music Star Celebrates Arrival of First Baby

Parker McCollum, the award-winning country star, has recently embraced the role of fatherhood. His wife, Hallie Ray Light, gave birth to their first son, Major Yancey Tyler McCollum, on August 8, 2024. The joyous news was shared by the McCollums on Instagram with a simple and sweet caption: “8/8/24 💙💙💙.”

Back in February, the couple had announced they were expecting with a heartfelt Instagram post reading, “God’s little blessing. We love you so much already, Baby M,” hinting at their future son’s name.

Interestingly, Parker had accidentally revealed the baby’s name during an interview on The Spencer Graves Show a few weeks ago. He later confessed to Entertainment Tonight that he got into trouble for the slip-up. “I got in a bunch of trouble when I got home last week. I didn’t know that interview had started. I was not aware that they were recording that,” he explained. Despite the accidental reveal and temporary hesitation on Hallie’s part, they ultimately decided to keep the name.

In May, Hallie and Parker attended the Academy of Country Music Awards where Hallie showcased her baby bump. It was a beautiful and proud moment for the couple.

Just days before Major’s birth, Parker expressed his excitement about becoming a dad in a social media post. “Minnesota & Wisconsin were electric this past weekend. They were also the last two shows I’ll ever play before I’m a dad. I’ve got two weeks off to welcome little man into the world this week and I am so grateful to God for a healthy Hallie Ray, a healthy baby, the best fans in the world, the best band and crew in the world, and the best friends and family ever. Going to enjoy this much-needed time off and HAVE A FREAKING KID. 48 hours till I’m forever known as dad. Love y’all! See you soon!”

Parker is currently taking a break from his “Burn It Down” tour to spend quality time with his new baby boy and his family. The “Pretty Heart” singer is scheduled to resume the tour later in August, but for now, he’s relishing every moment as a new dad.
