Court Docs Disclose Matthew Perry’s Tragic Final Words

Five individuals have been arrested in connection to the tragic death of Matthew Perry. The beloved Friends star passed away on October 28, 2023, from the acute effects of ketamine. Recent revelations about his final moments shed light on the heartbreak surrounding his passing.

Perry’s live-in assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, found him unresponsive in his hot tub last October. Initially, it was believed that Perry had drowned. However, the autopsy revealed ketamine in his system at the time of his death. Though Perry had been undergoing ketamine therapy, his last infusion was over a week before his death, prompting an investigation into a Hollywood drug ring.

Five people have now been charged in connection to Perry’s death, including his assistant, Kenny Iwamasa. Recently released court documents have disclosed Perry’s final, haunting words. According to Iwamasa, Perry asked for help to administer ketamine three times on the day of his death. The first request came at 8:30 a.m., followed by another at 12:45 p.m. Forty minutes later, Perry’s last words were a plea for Iwamasa to “shoot me up with a big one.”

Iwamasa reportedly left to run errands for Perry and discovered him lifeless in the hot tub upon his return.

In the five days preceding Perry’s death, Iwamasa administered 27 ketamine injections to the actor. Although instructed by a doctor on how to administer the shots, Iwamasa lacked any formal medical training. Iwamasa and four others have since been indicted on federal charges. He has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death and is facing up to 15 years in prison.

Along with Iwamasa, Dr. Mark Chavez and Dr. Salvador Plasencia are facing charges for supplying the ketamine. Drug dealers Erik Fleming and Jasveen Sangha, known as the “Ketamine Queen,” are also implicated. While Plasencia and Sangha have yet to submit plea deals, the other three have agreed to plea deals.

Friends and family of Perry feel “blindsided” by Iwamasa’s arrest. A source revealed to Us Weekly, “Matthew kept secrets. I wouldn’t be shocked if Kenny was the only one who knew how bad it really was.”

Despite being open about his past struggles with addiction, Perry tried to keep his ketamine use under wraps. In his memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, he discussed the drug. “Ketamine was a very popular street drug in the 1980s. There is a synthetic form of it now,” he wrote, explaining that he used it to “ease pain and help with depression.” For a brief period, Perry seemed to find relief in ketamine.
