Cristiano Ronaldo Sets New YouTube Record

Cristiano Ronaldo has achieved another milestone by reaching one million YouTube followers in record-breaking time.

The 39-year-old soccer icon launched his official YouTube channel on Wednesday, August 21. Astonishingly, he crossed the one million subscriber mark within the first 90 minutes of the channel’s debut.

Ronaldo had teased the launch of his channel on his various social media platforms before the official announcement.

The soccer legend, who boasts over 112 million followers on X, excitedly shared on the micro-blogging platform: “The wait is over … My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey.”

Already the most-followed celebrity on Instagram with more than 600 million followers, Ronaldo has quickly amassed over 15 million followers on YouTube as well.

On his YouTube channel, Ronaldo delves into his record-breaking sporting career and discusses his relationship with model Georgina Rodríguez.

Ronaldo and Georgina began dating in 2016, but their relationship faced a hurdle when Georgina’s father suffered a stroke. The 30-year-old model had been spending time with the soccer star when her dad, Jorge, was hospitalized in 2016. Feeling too “sad” to prioritize her burgeoning romance, she decided to take a step back.

Speaking on her Netflix series, I Am Georgina, Ronaldo mentioned their relationship: “It wasn’t sudden. It took a bit, perhaps a couple of months, because during that time we kind of stopped seeing each other.”

Georgina, whose father passed away in 2019, elaborated on this period: “Cristiano had a lot of games, and then the situation with my father happened. For a bit, I was a little absent, well, I was sad. One day we ran into each other at another event, and he asked me for dinner. I thought, ‘Finally, my chance has come.'”
