Dame Dash Questions Jay-Z’s Potential Offer for Roc-A-Fella Share

Dame Dash is clearly not on good terms with Jay-Z concerning the ongoing Roc-A-Fella ownership dispute, making his feelings publicly known.

Livebitez reshared a recent Instagram Live video from Dash on Tuesday (Aug. 20), in which Dash questions how deep Jay-Z’s financial resources are and if he would indeed buy his stake in Roc-A-Fella.

During the video, the Harlem native mentioned an emergency meeting held by Jay-Z and Biggs that allegedly aimed to block him from selling his stake. Dame discussed Jay-Z’s capacity to deter buyers from acquiring his share, suggesting it may have affected incoming offers.

“I don’t expect anyone, just some average person, to come buy it—or a third of it, my third. I don’t wanna get sued again,” he stated. “I know, for some reason, nobody wants me to sell it, but I’m ready to just move on, do my thing. I had a lawsuit, I had a judgment, and I’m like, ‘Yo, that’s 800 grand. Go get it from over there. They not paying me neither.’”

“I’m sure there’s a little twist they put on things. I don’t know why. I do know why, but I don’t know why.” Dash continued, “[Jay-Z] has the first right of refusal. They had some bum-ass board meeting, all of a sudden he gets first right of refusal. I don’t really care. It don’t slow nothing down for me… Now I don’t know how deep homie’s pockets is. I’m curious if he’s gonna match that. I put an offer on the table, lemme see if he’ll match it. But it was from other people.”

TMZ reported that Jay-Z and his legal team filed a notice indicating that, using the sale of Dash’s share as an example, the rights to Reasonable Doubt will revert to Jay in 2031. The legal implications are part of the original deal from 1996.

Dame, however, remains unfazed by the actions of Jay-Z, Biggs, and their team. He took to Instagram on Tuesday (Aug. 13) to express his defiance.

“They can say what they want, this sh*t is still for sale,” Dame Dash’s post read. “You’re not buying a copyright, you’re buying a piece of a company ROC A FELLA INC. Please only serious inquiries only!”

The U.S. Marshals are scheduled to auction Dame Dash’s shares in Roc-A-Fella Records, with the minimum bid set at $1.2 million on Thursday (Aug. 29).
