DaniLeigh DUI Arrest: Singer Claims Immunity in Bodycam Footage

DaniLeigh thought her celebrity status could exempt her from legal consequences, as evidenced in the newly released bodycam footage of her May 2023 DUI hit-and-run arrest.

In the video, DaniLeigh tells Miami police officers they can’t arrest her because she is an artist, specifically an R&B singer. This exchange follows an incident where she allegedly hit a teenager on a moped with her car. The teenager sustained a kidney laceration and a spinal fracture.

In her exchange with officers, she mentions she is with Quavo, who can be seen in the video along with some of his security personnel. The officer responds by instructing them to step back.

DaniLeigh appears to be laughing and slurring her words while claiming she is completely sober. She insists she performed well in their sobriety tests, although this does not seem to be the case according to the footage.

“Quavo was right here, helping me out,” DaniLeigh states as officers search for her records.

Officers reported that she blew a 0.145 and 0.148 on the Breathalyzer, nearly double the legal limit. Despite the evidence, she continues to argue she hadn’t hit anyone.

In the police footage, a bird’s-eye view clearly shows DaniLeigh hitting the victim, with sparks flying as his scooter’s metal drags along the ground.

Witnesses corroborated the incident, stating they saw her hit the teen on a motorized scooter and drag him for about a block until someone alerted a nearby police officer.

DaniLeigh was eventually handcuffed and taken to jail, charged with three felonies: driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury, and DUI damage to property. She was convicted in February after pleading no contest to misdemeanor and felony charges, resulting in a five-year probation sentence.
