Danny DeVito Returns as Homer’s Brother on ‘The Simpsons’

Danny DeVito is reportedly set to return to The Simpsons as Homer’s brother Herb Powell, a character that appeared on the show in the past.

It was recently revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that The Simpsons shared some details about the show’s Season 36 premiere titled “Bart’s Birthday.”

In the episode, Bart “celebrates the most shocking birthday party of his entire life, one that might just change everyone in Springfield forever.”

In addition to DeVito, the episode includes other big-name guest stars including John Cena, Tom Hanks, Joel McHale, and Conan O’Brien (as himself).

While it wasn’t revealed at the event which roles each guest star would be playing, Simpsons writer and producer Michael Price confirmed to the Four Finger Discount podcast that DeVito would be returning to “[play] a character that he has previously played on the show.”

DeVito has voiced Homer’s long-lost half-brother in three episodes to date, including “O Brother Where Art Thou,” “Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes,” and “Changing Of The Guardian.”
