David Arquette discusses the chances of a John Cena-style retirement tour

WWE star John Cena recently announced that he will embark on his retirement tour in 2025. This revelation begs the question: will recently retired David Arquette make a return to the ring for a farewell tour of his own?

In a conversation with ClutchPoints about his upcoming film, *The Good Half*, Arquette reflected on his wrestling career and expressed admiration for Cena. While he commended Cena’s accomplishments, Arquette seemed uncertain about his own wrestling future.

“Oh my gosh, I don’t know. I mean, I did WCW when it was there but without the full understanding of what goes into wrestling [and] how to wrestle,” Arquette said. “There’s always something in me that would love to do it on the big level with one of the big companies, go to the training facility, and really work on that element.”

“But I don’t know. The clock is ticking,” he added, laughing.

As for Cena, Arquette holds him in high regard, both in and out of the wrestling ring. “I love that guy, especially the work that he’s done with Make-A-Wish,” Arquette praised. “[He’s] such a hero that way.”

For years, John Cena was the face of WWE. He holds the record for the most world championship reigns alongside Ric Flair, with 16 titles, and has won virtually every other championship in the company. Additionally, Cena has won the Money in the Bank (2012) and the Royal Rumble twice (2008, 2013).

Cena eventually transitioned to a full-time actor. His early roles included WWE-produced movies like *The Marine*, *12 Rounds*, and *The Reunion*. He also had small roles in *Fred: The Movie*, *Trainwreck*, *Sisters*, and *Daddy’s Home*.

In 2018, Cena achieved mainstream success with his role in *Blockers*. This was followed by notable performances in *Transformers* spin-off *Bumblebee*, *Playing with Fire*, and *Dolittle*. He also played the villain, Jakob Toretto, in *F9*.

Cena ventured into the DCEU (now DCU), starring in *The Suicide Squad*. He reprised his Fast and Furious franchise role in *Fast X* in 2023, made a cameo in *Barbie*, and starred in *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem*, *Hidden Strike*, *Vacation Friends 2*, and *Freelance*.

At the 2024 Money in the Bank PLE, John Cena officially announced his retirement tour. Fans will get the chance to see Cena in the ring for the last time in 2025 as he embarks on one final wrestling run.

David Arquette, perhaps best known for his role in the *Scream* franchise, is an actor and former professional wrestler. He began his career with roles in *Buffy the Vampire Slayer*, *Wild Bill*, and *Beautiful Girls* before his breakthrough role as Dewey Riley in *Scream*.

Arquette starred in five installments of the *Scream* series, though his character was killed off in the fifth installment.

In wrestling, Arquette was a part of WCW (World Championship Wrestling) and even won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He has also made appearances in WWE and AEW events over the years.

Whether David Arquette will take on a Cena-like retirement tour remains uncertain. He might be done with wrestling, but fans would undoubtedly enjoy seeing him in a final match or two. Time will tell if Arquette decides to step back into the ring.

Coming up, Arquette will star in *The Good Half*. Nick Jonas, Elisabeth Shue, Brittany Snow, Alexandra Shipp, and Matt Walsh also feature in the film.

Utopia and Fathom Events will release *The Good Half* in theaters nationwide on July 23 and 25, with exclusive virtual Q&A sessions featuring Nick Jonas, Robert Schwartzman, and special guest moderator Kiernan Shipka.
