David Bromstad’s Throwback Photos Prove the HGTV Star Doesn’t Age

David Bromstad’s youthful transformation seems almost unbelievable. In various photos shared on social media over the years, it’s evident that Bromstad has barely aged. A notable example is a set of snapshots from 2014 that he posted on Facebook. Comparing those photos to the ones from his 51st birthday, Bromstad’s appearance remains strikingly similar. The most noticeable differences are his grown-out facial hair and numerous tattoos, each of which he has discussed the significance of on social media and in interviews.

In 2013, Bromstad took a trip down memory lane by posting a throwback photo on Instagram from his high school days. Sharing a picture from his time with the Wayzata Swim Team in 1989, he joked, “Who doesn’t love a High School photo? Wayzata Swim Team 1989! #ThrowbackThursday.” Bromstad’s youthful smile by the pool is the same cheerful expression he showcases today.

Another older photograph shared by Bromstad on Facebook in 2017, displayed the same characteristic grin. At that time, his hair was a bit longer compared to his 2024 look, although it maintained its original brunette color with a few grey strands. He captioned this nostalgic photo, “Throwing it back to my Senior Year of High School!”

Reflecting even earlier, for his 46th birthday in 2019, Bromstad shared a baby photo on Instagram. Even then, he noted feeling the physical changes of aging. “Getting old is such a blessing but def comes with some more aches and pains. #amiright?” he wrote, acknowledging the natural aging process. However, growing older hasn’t deterred Bromstad from keeping in top physical shape.

David Bromstad appears passionate about fitness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In January 2015, he posted a gym selfie on Facebook, expressing his preference for morning workouts. His commitment to fitness was echoed again in August 2018 when The Gym Jax Facebook page shared a video of Bromstad in an intense exercise class. They captioned it, “It’s always fun when David Bromstad @bromco is in town and makes us his number one stop to get his workouts in!” and gave a nod to his HGTV show “My Lottery Dream Home.”

In January 2019, Bromstad participated in the “#howdidagehityouchallenge” on Instagram, posting a side-by-side comparison from 2009 and 2019. The comparison highlighted his slightly longer hair, facial hair, and numerous tattoos, yet Bromstad looked as fit as ever. Despite the physical focus of the challenge, Bromstad emphasized personal growth in his caption, reflecting on the decade’s experiences. “Looking back at me 10 years ago and seeing the man I was and the man I’ve become makes [me] reflect on all the crazy, wonderful, painful, happy and sad memories that lead me to who I am now.
