Da'Vine Joy Randolph Reveals Favorite Shades, Loewe Bag, and Cocktail Machine

“Only Murders in the Building” star Da’Vine Joy Randolph discusses skincare, subtle bling, and her secret to always looking snatched.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph will be an EGOT winner. It’s just a matter of time. She already has a Golden Globe and an Oscar for her standout performance as Mary Lamb, a grieving mom and cafeteria worker, in “The Holdovers.” Her impressive range also secured her a Tony nomination for her role as Oda Mae Brown in the Broadway production of “Ghost: The Musical.” Additionally, she received an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Detective Donna Williams on Hulu’s hilarious whodunit, “Only Murders in the Building,” which premieres its fourth season on August 27.

“Details of the show are tightly under wraps,” Randolph, 38, tells Alexa. “But I will say Detective Williams is known for being this super-serious and tough detective, and this season we get to see her fangirl over a new character.” The actress feels honored to work alongside acting veterans like Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Meryl Streep. “Every day I pinch myself that I get to work alongside such icons,” she says.

The Philly-born, Yale School of Drama alum’s fashion game is as strong as her acting prowess. She rocks custom creations on the red carpet from brands like Louis Vuitton, Rodarté, Zac Posen, and Christian Siriano.

However, Randolph’s true obsession is glasses. “I’ve lost track of how many pairs of sunglasses I have, and I always wear eyeglasses (even though I don’t really need them),” she confesses. “When I was little, I used to intentionally fail my eye exams so my mom would buy them for me!”
