Obi began his acting career in the mid-’90s, making appearances in shows like “Star Trek: Voyager,” “3rd Rock from the Sun,” and “Angel.” He eventually secured his major role on “Dawson’s Creek.”

Ndefo appeared in 10 episodes of “Dawson’s Creek,” portraying Bodie Wells during the show’s six-season run. His character dated Nina Repeta‘s Bessie Potter.

Mary Margaret Humes, who played Ndefo’s mother on the show, paid a loving tribute to him after news of his death emerged. She described him as a bright, shining light that persevered despite the adversities he faced.

Ndefo endured significant hardship, losing both his legs in 2019 when a driver struck him as he was placing groceries in his car. The incident resulted in the complete severing of one leg and necessitated the amputation of the other.
