DC Unveils Preview and Details for Elseworlds’ Green Lantern Dark

DC recently unveiled its All In initiative, set to launch after the conclusion of Absolute Power. As part of this, they’re revealing more about the epic DC Absolute line, which aims to reimagine their iconic heroes in fresh and intriguing ways. This new lineup features Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, The Flash, and Green Lantern. But, for Green Lantern fans, there’s even more to look forward to.

During the What’s Happening in the DC Multiverse panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the publisher shared exciting details about the upcoming Elseworlds version of Green Lantern, titled Green Lantern Dark. The anticipation is building, and we even got a sneak peek at new images from the series.

Green Lantern Dark is a fresh project from the talented team behind Something is Killing the Children and House of Slaughter, writer Tate Brombal and artist Werther Dell’Edera. This is their debut into DC’s Elseworlds, and while they haven’t disclosed too many specifics, they did mention that this iteration is inspired by DC’s Tangent version of Green Lantern. Brombal and Dell’Edera are thrilled by the opportunity to work outside of DC’s main continuity and become part of the recently relaunched Elseworlds line. Fans have a lot to be excited about as this duo takes on the Lantern universe.

Werther Dell’Edera, the main artist of BOOM! Studios’ acclaimed Something is Killing the Children, is an ideal fit for a darker take on Green Lantern. The bright green light of the Lanterns piercing through the darkness creates striking visuals that distinctly set this version apart. Brombal, known for his incredible work on House of Slaughter, has a talent for developing characters and spinning compelling stories. His experience with different houses in the Order of St. George positions him perfectly to explore the emotional spectrum of the Green Lantern universe, which includes various other Corps over the years.

This new direction for Green Lantern, courtesy of Brombal and Dell’Edera, will hit stores on October 23rd, and fans are eagerly waiting to see how this fresh team reinterprets the legendary hero.

Below are some images of covers and previews from the upcoming series that give a taste of the dark and gripping aesthetic fans can expect.
