Deadpool 3 Exec’s Crazy Cameo Admission

Deadpool & Wolverine executive producer revealed to GamesRadar+ that Marvel has been actively trolling online to obscure the cameos in the much-anticipated film. Director Shawn Levy had earlier hinted at numerous exciting cameos, sparking fan theories galore. Fans have speculated that Taylor Swift might appear as Dazzler. Recently, the latest trailer showing a full-body shot of Lady Deadpool has fueled further speculation, suggesting that Swift or even Ryan Reynold’s wife, Blake Lively, could be under the costume.

Wendy Jacobson, one of the movie’s executive producers, hinted at deliberate subterfuge and misdirections online to maintain secrecy. “I can neither confirm nor deny any cameos in this film but I will say that it was always important to us that nothing in this movie feels like a gimmick,” Jacobson stated. She emphasized that any characters appearing would have a pivotal role, ensuring they contribute to the story with a defined character arc.

Jacobson further explained that the process of including characters was collaborative, focusing on those who fit seamlessly into the narrative. The intent behind each cameo was to add significant value to the storyline rather than serve as mere fan service.

The third Deadpool film features the titular characters, played by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, teaming up to save the merc with a mouth’s friends and family from a looming disaster, predicted by the Time Variance Authority (TVA). While fans are excited to see Wolverine donning the classic yellow spandex and Deadpool’s trademark sarcasm, their comedic bickering is not the only element that may throw their mission off course. Cassandra Nova, portrayed by Emma Corrin, adds another layer of complexity to their mission.

Cassandra Nova, being Professor X’s malevolent alien twin sister, raises the possibility of Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier making an appearance in the film. The actor has remained tight-lipped about his involvement, fueling further speculation. The new trailer has confirmed the presence of Sabretooth and Pyro, but leaves fans wondering who else might make a surprise appearance.

Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait much longer to uncover all the surprises as Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters this Friday, July 26. In the US, some showings are available as early as Thursday.
