Deadpool-Wolverine Joke Creates Problem for Marvel’s Kevin Feige

“Deadpool & Wolverine” may include references to pegging and a plethora of other sexual jokes throughout its duration. However, unlike the first Deadpool film, viewers should not anticipate seeing explicit sexual scenes. This upcoming summer movie earned an R rating due to “strong bloody violence and language throughout, gore and sexual references.” In contrast, the 2016 “Deadpool” film was rated for “sexual content and graphic nudity.” Meanwhile, “Deadpool 2” reduced explicit acts but still contained Wade’s regenerated butt and genitals momentarily, along with numerous sexual references. It’s plausible that graphic sexual content wasn’t advisable for “Deadpool & Wolverine” due to narrative considerations rather than external mandates.

Currently, the only apparent content restriction from Disney and Marvel Studios for the movie involves drug use. This sentiment is humorously conveyed in a “Deadpool & Wolverine” trailer, where Wade Wilson tells Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) that Kevin Feige disallowed drug use. The characters then proceed to indulge in amusing euphemisms for drug use, incorporating a witty Disney-themed phrase, “Do you wanna build a snowman?”

Though “Deadpool & Wolverine” isn’t shaping up to be the most sexually explicit movie ever, it might as well be “Nymphomaniac” compared to most other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) over the years. At least, more individuals at Disney now understand what “pegging” means. Of course, there is always the possibility that the executives were aware of pegging and used it humorously, potentially featuring Kevin Feige in an amusing explanatory role.
