Deon Derrico Shares Update on Nephew Amani’s Emergency Surgery

Recently, Doubling Down With The Derricos star Deon Derrico asked fans to pray for his nephew, Amani, who faced a serious health crisis. Now, he is providing an update on Amani’s condition following an urgent emergency surgery.

It’s been quite a challenging period for the Doubling Down With The Derricos family. Almost a year ago, fans discovered that Deon’s late brother, Chris, had a son named Amani. Although Amani had some health issues during the previous season, he managed to lead his daily life. However, just a few weeks ago, Deon reached out for prayers after Amani was rushed in for an emergency liver transplant. Unfortunately, Amani’s body rejected the new liver shortly after the transplant, placing him back on the list for another transplant. Deon quickly requested more prayers from fans. Now, he has shared an update on how Amani is faring.

On Instagram, Deon Derrico expressed his gratitude for the support, saying, “Thank you to everyone that have prayed for my nephew Amani!” He acknowledged the difficult time Amani has been through, sharing a photo of Amani in his hospital room and noting, “As you can see he has been through it.”

Deon elaborated on the struggles Amani has faced, explaining, “Having two liver transplants within two weeks, and being placed in an induced coma up until a couple of days ago!” He stressed the importance of continued prayers, adding, “PLEASE KEEP THE PRAYERS coming lord knows how bad we need them / He needs your prayers!! We are all lost without GOD!!! We are truly grateful that my nephew Amani, is doing much better and he’ll hopefully be released from the hospital within the next two weeks.”
