Diddy Seeks Dismissal of Rodney Jones’ Lawsuit

Diddy is firmly defending himself against Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones and is labeling the latter’s lawsuit as a baseless money grab masquerading as serious accusations of sex trafficking and a RICO conspiracy.

The rap icon, along with his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, filed a motion on Monday in Manhattan Federal Court, requesting the dismissal of Jones’ second amended complaint. The motion methodically rebuts each claim made against Diddy.

Diddy predominantly accuses Jones of attempting to secure a quick settlement by spreading damaging allegations to tarnish his reputation. As per documents obtained by TMZ, Jones recently appeared in a video on X with rapper “Uncle Murda”, where they are seen chuckling over the lawsuit against Diddy.

In the video, Jones allegedly demanded that Diddy “pay him that money by Monday,” adding a veiled threat based on his Chicago roots, stating, “I don’t play about our business.”

Diddy counters that Jones could not substantiate claims of injury to his “business or property” under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). Jones had earlier asserted that his “business or property” suffered from non-payment for services performed on Diddy’s 2023 album, “The Love Album: Off The Grid.”

Moreover, Diddy argues that Jones did not present a primary claim under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000. To meet this standard, Jones would need to demonstrate he was compelled to perform a sex act in exchange for something valuable or was a victim of such an act.

In addition, Diddy points out that Jones has not provided essential details to back up the accusations of sexual assault and sexual harassment made against him.

Diddy also dismissed Jones’ other legal arguments, including premise liability, emotional distress, and breach of oral contract. He stated that Jones failed to demonstrate that Diddy exerted control over the premises where alleged third-party assaults took place.

Furthermore, Diddy contends that Jones did not establish a legitimate claim for emotional distress. Regarding the breach of oral contract allegation, Diddy argues it is beyond the statute of limitations.

Meanwhile, Tyrone Blackburn, Jones’ attorney, has faced his own legal troubles. In April, a judge referred Blackburn to the grievance committee of New York’s federal court district to decide if he violated court rules. The judge highlighted “glaring deficiencies” in five different lawsuits filed by Blackburn.

Efforts to reach out to Rodney for comments have so far been unsuccessful.
