Dodgers’ Mookie Betts, Jack Flaherty on Kendrick Lamar-Drake Beef

The Kendrick Lamar-Drake beef has generated significant buzz in the entertainment world over recent months. Fans and celebrities alike have taken sides, and even some Los Angeles Dodgers stars can’t resist weighing in. During a recent episode of On Base with Mookie Betts, Mookie Betts and Jack Flaherty shared their thoughts on the ongoing rivalry between the two iconic rappers, as reported by B/R Walk-Off.

Betts pointedly asked Flaherty if there is “only one correct side” in the feud. After a brief pause to consider the question, Flaherty, who joined the Dodgers from the Detroit Tigers in July, gave his take.

“That’s a tough one,” Flaherty said. “I don’t think you can say that there’s one correct side… I’m on the Kendrick side. But I’m sure somebody could argue… I’ll let somebody argue against me, but I’m going to stay on my side. So maybe I am sitting on the, ‘there’s only one side.’”

Betts then asked Flaherty if he is a fan of Lamar, to which the Dodgers pitcher confirmed he is. However, he added that he also appreciates Drake’s music.

“But when you see what he (Lamar) did with the city, when he did his little pop-up show and had everybody out there,” Flaherty continued. “You can’t say that he didn’t win.”

As one of baseball’s top talents, Betts indicated he agrees with his teammate’s perspective on the matter.

“I think I kind of agree with that, man,” Betts said. “Kendrick… he went crazy.”

It’s worth noting that Kendrick Lamar appears to be the consensus favorite among the general public when it comes to this beef. Both Betts and Flaherty share this sentiment, albeit while recognizing Drake’s musical prowess. Nevertheless, in this specific conflict, the Dodgers stars are firmly supporting Lamar.

It’s possible that more MLB players might voice their opinions on the Lamar-Drake rivalry, following in the footsteps of Betts and Flaherty. With the beef continuing to make headlines, everyone seems eager to pick a side and defend their choice passionately.
