Doechii Unveils ‘Alligators Bites Never Heal’ Mixtape: ‘Which One’s Yours?’

Doe has delighted her fans in celebration of her 26th birthday by announcing the release of her new mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal .

This new project, set to be released on August 30, comes after a two-year hiatus. The artist, signed with Top Dawg Entertainment, unveiled the tracklist on August 20, featuring 19 songs and a solitary collaboration with Kuntfetish on the track “GTFO.”

In an engaging social media post, Doechii invited fans to claim their favorite tracks from the upcoming mixtape. “Alligator Bites Never Heal Track-list 19 songs. Which one are you claiming,” she wrote.

“Nissan Altima,” which debuted earlier in August, is the only pre-released single on the mixtape. Additional tracks include “Slide,” “Beverly Hills,” “Boiled Peanuts,” “Denial Is a River,” and “Catfish.”

The announcement sparked an outpouring of love and support from fans and fellow musicians alike. Kehlani, Joey Bada$$, Reason, and Yebba were among those who left uplifting comments on her Instagram.

An excited fan even commented, “19 songs I used to pray for times like these.”

Earlier this month, Doechii also surprised fans by sharing the mixtape’s cover art, which depicts her holding an albino alligator on her lap. She marked the reveal with a heartfelt message, “Happy Birthday to me.”

In addition to her mixtape, Doechii has been engaging fans with her “Swamp Sessions” throughout the summer. These sessions act as a creative exercise where she sets a timer for an hour, writes a song, and posts whatever she creates. She even adds one-scene visuals for an extra creative touch.

“I set a timer for an hour and I write a song. Whatever I get in an hour is what gets posted!” she wrote on Instagram in July. “I’m adding one scene visuals to scratch that creative director itch, enjoy.”

Some of the singles from these sessions include “BULLFROG,” “CATFISH,” “NISSAN ALTIMA,” featuring Isaiah Rashad, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock, as well as “FLORIDA WATA” and “SUNDAYS BEST,” featuring Fana Hues.

Alligator Bites Never Heal marks Doechii’s return since her last project, She / Her / Black B—h , was released two years ago. The previous EP featured collaborations with Rico Nasty, Jst Ray, and SZA. Notably, the SZA-assisted track “Persuasive” peaked at No. 33 on Billboard ‘s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart in 2022.

Doechii’s fans eagerly await this new chapter in her musical journey, looking forward to the diverse tracks and unique soundscapes that Alligator Bites Never Heal promises to offer. With her creative momentum and vibrant fan engagement, Doechii is set to make this birthday, and this release, truly unforgettable.
