Dragons Unleashed in New Trailer for House of the Dragon Episode 204

We’re now three episodes into the second season of House of the Dragon. Despite numerous warnings from the characters about an impending war, we’ve yet to witness any significant battles. The most recent episode, "The Burning Mill," offered a brief glimpse of conflict, but it’s the upcoming fourth episode that promises to significantly raise the stakes.

It appears that Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) is at a breaking point. Having exhausted peaceful options to resolve her conflict with her half-brother, King Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), she’s now prepared to unleash her dragons in all their fury. In the new trailer, Rhaenyra states, "I needed to know that there was no other path. And now I do. We must send the dragons to war."

Meanwhile, Aegon readies himself by mounting his dragon, Sunfyre, renowned as the most beautiful dragon in the Seven Kingdoms. Not to be outdone, his younger brother Aemond takes to the skies on Vhagar, the largest and fiercest dragon. Additionally, Criston Cole has commanded an army out of King’s Landing, aiming to capture and convert castles loyal to Rhaenyra. The trailer provides a sneak peek of what promises to be a spectacular clash of dragons.

Fans of George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood will recognize the central event of the forthcoming episode as the Battle of Rook’s Rest. The cast and crew reportedly spent considerable time filming this pivotal battle scene. Alongside this main event, the episode will feature another dream sequence involving Daemon Targaryen. There’s a fleeting shot of him in the Iron Throne room, which suggests he might be dreaming, as it’s currently impossible for him to be there in reality.

New episodes of House of the Dragon air Sunday nights on HBO and Max.
