Drake Drops 3 New Tracks: ‘SOD,’ ‘Circadian Rhythm,’ and ‘No Face’ with Playboi Carti

Just before the weekend, Drake surprised fans with the release of three new songs: “Circadian Rhythm,” “SOD,” and “No Face” featuring Playboi Carti. These tracks were shared through his Instagram burner account @plottttwistttttt.

Fans may recognize “SOD” as “Supersoak,” a track that streamer Kai Cenat premiered last month. The original version included a verse from Lil Yachty. However, the track encountered issues when Yachty attempted to clear a sample from Mr. HotSpot. The sample was denied usage unless a clean version was made due to Mr. HotSpot’s religious beliefs. Consequently, Lil Yachty has been removed from the official release. Notably, fans observed that Yachty unfollowed Drake on Instagram, fueling speculation of possible tension between the two artists.

Beyond “SOD,” those who have been following the tension between Drake and Kendrick Lamar might find a connection between “Circadian Rhythm” and Lamar’s diss track “6:16 in LA.” Some believe Drake was inspired by a line from Lamar’s song stating, “Often, I know this type of power is gon’ cost / But I live in circadian rhythms of a shooting star.”

On “No Face,” Drake broadens his lyrical focus to address any critics, stating, “I’m just so happy that n—s who envied and held that shit in got to finally show it / I’m over the moon, yeah, we’ll see you boys soon.”

These new tracks come just a few weeks after Drake released a massive folder on 100gigs.org, filled with unreleased music, behind-the-scenes footage, tour set designs, and clips from the studio. This collection included another trio of tracks—“It’s Up” featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, “Blue Green Red,” and “Housekeeping Knows” featuring Latto—which were also initially shared via his Instagram burner account before being officially released on digital streaming platforms.
