Drake used a lyric from Kendrick Lamar’s hit song from their beef while giving his opinion on another lookalike.

On Sunday, July 28, the Toronto native shared a video of a doppelganger performing his 2015 hit “Hotline Bling” in a boxing ring in New York. The lookalike, known as John Dour on Instagram, has previously mimicked Drake in music videos like Lil Mabu and Fivio Foreign’s “Teach Me How To Drill.” Drake responded to the clip by using a familiar line from Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” as his caption.

“Sometimes you gotta pop out,” he wrote.

It’s been nearly three months since Kendrick Lamar delivered a strong blow to Drake with “Not Like Us.” Produced by Mustard, the track remains in the top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100, especially after Lamar’s Juneteenth concert and its viral music video. Some fans think the song was what secured Lamar’s victory in their feud, while others argue that Drake won the lyrical exchange.

Drake seems to be feeling much better now that the controversy has subsided. The OVO Sound founder appears to be in a great mood these days. Producer Gordo discussed Drake’s current state of mind after releasing two new collaborations with the rapper on his debut album DIAMONTE.

“Ever since all this has happened … I’ve seen him happier,” Gordo told People. “It’s really weird. He’s pretty jolly. The internet makes it seem like, ‘Oh, that photo, he’s all sad and s**t.’ That’s just a bad photo from a bad camera. But because it’s him, it’s put under a magnifying glass like, ‘Oh, look at his eyes. He’s looking a little droopy. He hasn’t slept.’ But the guy’s been happy as s**t, to be honest. He’s chilling.”

While he jokes about his beef with Kendrick, Drake is currently dealing with issues involving other artists like Soulja Boy and A$AP Rocky. He recently took a shot at the “Crank That” rapper on his new track with Lil Yachty, “S.O.D.” Soulja Boy responded on Instagram Live to the line about his SODMG label. Additionally, Rocky is anticipated to address Drake in his upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb.
