A violent storm swept through the Toronto metro area on Tuesday, July 16, leaving over 100,000 citizens without power. The severe weather, which brought nearly four inches of rain, even caused significant flooding at Drake’s mansion. The popular Canadian artist shared the aftermath on his Instagram Story, showing at least one floor of his estate completely submerged in water.

Despite the damage, Drake managed to maintain a sense of humor about the situation. He posted a video with a light-hearted commentary, comparing the brown tint of the floodwater to one of his favorite cocktails. “This better be Espresso Martini,” he quipped in the clip.

The video also featured another person trying to keep the doors to another room shut while Drake walked around barefoot with a broom. Unfortunately, the broom didn’t seem to make much of an impact against the flooding.

The storm led to some playful reactions from fans on social media. One person joked, “OVO tears done flooded the house,” while another commented, “Bro got the rap game against him, AND NOW MOTHER NATURE?!?!?”

Nearly four inches of rain fell in Toronto due to the combined impact of three separate storms, breaking the city’s rainfall record that had stood since 1941. According to Environment Canada, Tuesday’s downpour delivered 25 percent more rain in three hours than the average amount for the entire month of July.

Local meteorologist Dave Phillips provided some insights, noting, “We had 25 percent more rain in three hours than we’d have normally in the whole month of July with all the thunderstorms and systems that moved through.”

Authorities have conducted at least 14 rescues as of now and are continuing to assess the damage to highways and properties caused by the flooding.

The good news is that no more significant rain is expected to accumulate for the rest of Tuesday, suggesting that the worst of the storm is over. Both Drake and the rest of the city are now dealing with the aftermath, hoping for some respite as the storm begins to wane.
