Dramatic Video Shows Ukraine Evacuating Troops Using a Bradley Vehicle

A U.S.-made Bradley fighting vehicle engages Russian positions while assisting Ukrainian forces in Donetsk in August 2024.

A recent video captures a U.S.-manufactured Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) in action, evacuating Ukrainian troops from the front lines in the Donbas region, east Ukraine.

This footage was shared over the weekend on the Telegram channel of Ukraine’s 47th Motorized Brigade.

Filmed by an aerial drone, the video details Russian troops encroaching on a group of Ukrainian soldiers taking shelter in a dugout located at the edge of a forest in Pokrovsk.

As a Russian soldier draws closer to the dugout, Ukrainian artillery fire erupts, causing the soldier to fall, apparently suffering injuries.

Moments later, a Bradley IFV rushes down a nearby road and halts beside the dugout, allowing the Ukrainian soldiers to climb aboard.

While retreating, the Bradley crew returns fire, launching cannon rounds into the nearby forest where Russian forces are positioned.

The Bradley has become an essential asset for Ukraine since the U.S. delivered its initial batch in 2003 to aid in the defense against the Russian invasion.

Experts have stated that the Bradley’s adaptability makes it a vital tool for various crucial tasks on the battlefield.

Its armored design can withstand artillery attacks, while it possesses a top speed of 40 mph and is armed with powerful 25 mm M242 chain guns.

In confrontations against Russian tanks and armored units, the Bradleys have shown effectiveness and are employed for raids on enemy positions, as illustrated in the dramatic troop evacuation captured in the recent video.

The 47th Mechanized Brigade, involved in the evacuation, is recognized as one of Ukraine’s most seasoned and capable units.

This brigade has undergone training by NATO instructors and utilizes advanced U.S.-made military equipment, including the Bradleys and M1 Abrams tanks, positioning it at the forefront of intense combat.

Currently, Ukraine is facing aggressive Russian offensives in Donetsk, where Russian forces are gaining ground bit by bit.

At the same time, Ukraine has opened another front, launching a bold cross-border assault into Russia’s Kursk region.

Reports suggest that the Bradley IFVs are among the Western-supplied equipment being deployed in these attacks. Recent Russian footage has also shown their forces targeting these vehicles in the ongoing conflicts.

The resilience and strategic use of the Bradley in various operations underscore its significance in Ukraine’s efforts to bolster its military capabilities in light of continued hostilities.
