‘Dukes of Hazzard’ Star John Schneider Surprises Fans with Wedding News

Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider has found love again, just a year after becoming a widower. The actor married Dee Dee Sorvino on Tuesday, July 23, in Las Vegas. Dee Dee is also a widow, having lost her actor-husband Paul Sorvino in July 2022.

Sorvino marks Schneider’s fourth marriage. His previous wife, 53-year-old Alicia Allain, passed away on February 21, 2023, at their home in Holden, Louisiana, after a four-year battle with breast cancer. Schneider and Allain had been married since 2019.

The actor revealed he was dating again in May on Grace Begins, the Podcast.

“God sent a widower to a widow and a widow to a widower who gets it, who understands,” Schneider shared. “Because I tell you what, I was ready to give it up, all of it — everything,” he continued, noting how he was nearly done with the whole idea of dating or holding another’s hand until he met Dee Dee.

For a while, he kept the identity of his new partner a secret, but the couple has made several public appearances together in recent months. This new development marks another significant event in what has been an eventful year for Schneider. Since late December 2023, he has made headlines for calling for President Biden to be hanged, criticizing Beyonce, revealing that someone stole his General Lee vehicle, and even mentioning that his late wife’s ashes were taken.

Musically, Schneider released a new album in 2024, adding to his occasional success on the Billboard charts. Older fans of country music might remember his four No. 1 country hits from the 1980s: “I’ve Been Around Enough to Know,” “Country Girls,” “What’s a Memory Like You (Doing in a Love Like This),” and “You’re the Last Thing I Needed Tonight.”

The death of a spouse is one of the most devastating events one can experience. Many country stars and celebrities have faced such unthinkable tragedy but have eventually found love again with new partners.
